Aging in Place with Parkinson’s

Parkinson’s diagnosis is following a frightening parabolic trend upwards and this will undoubtedly impact caregivers globally.

In 2022, a Parkinson’s Foundation-backed study revealed a 50% increase from the previous year.

This figure is expected to continue to increase over the coming years.

Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s disease.

Thankfully, there is a strong network of Parkinson’s supporters both in the US and in other countries across the globe.

This week, anyone connected to the Parkinsons world will be attending the annual World Parkinson’s Congress in Barcelona.

Many of my favorite vendors are exhibitors at the Expo, showcasing their Parkinson-specific solutions.

If you are in Barcelona this week, make sure you check out @Urban Poling, @comfort linen, @Davis Phinney foundation and @rock steady boxing!

I can’t be there live this year so my contribution to the Parkinsons community is a link to the “Aging in Place with Parkinson” webinar I recorded with @melani dizon @Davis Phinney Foundation in May (which apparently was one of their most accessed resources!!)

If we’re willing to share what we have discovered, caregivers worldwide get to benefit from. If you know better, you can do better!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful time connecting, sharing and exchanging solutions so that all people with Parkinsons can succeed!
